About the Role
CFT is seeking a mid-level Systems Analyst specializing in military communications and networking systems to join our team. Operating out of our Newport News and Langley AFB locations, you will play a critical role in analyzing, designing, and optimizing tactical networks and C4 (Command, Control, Communications, and Computers) systems. You will work closely with defense clients and our internal teams to translate engineering accuracy into actionable, real-time operational advantages.

Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
Key Responsibilities
System Analysis & Optimization: Analyze and evaluate analog and digital communication systems, digital military radios, satellite communications (SATCOM), and advanced networking technologies.
Architecture & Topology: Develop, document, and maintain network topologies, system architectures, and operational scenarios for military networks.
Mission Engineering Support: Collaborate with the Mission Engineering Capabilities Analysis Team (MECAT) to support long-term acquisition decisions and urgent operational requirements.
Troubleshooting & Integration: Provide network troubleshooting and systems integration support, identifying and resolving network congestion and connectivity issues within classified and unclassified environments.
Security & Compliance: Ensure all communication systems and networking infrastructure comply with DoD Information Assurance (IA) and cybersecurity policies.
Documentation & Reporting: Produce targeted technical reports, system performance metrics, and briefings to inform military decision-makers and defense stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical discipline.
Clearance: Must possess an active Secret security clearance.
Experience: Mid-level professional experience (typically 3–5+ years) in systems analysis, network engineering, or IT infrastructure management, with a distinct focus on military or DoD communications systems.
Technical Skills: * Strong understanding of tactical networks, routing/switching, and telecommunications protocols.
Experience troubleshooting complex LAN/WAN environments.
Familiarity with DoD security compliance and risk management frameworks.
Work Style: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively on-site with minimal telework.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior military experience or deep domain knowledge of US Air Force networking systems and platforms.
Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Network+, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, or equivalent).
